SEPARATED FOR A PURPOSE
Leviticus 20:7-8, 22-24
"Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am the Lord your God." Leviticus 20:7, NIV
If a cube of lead is placed on a cube of
gold, the two metals slowly but inevitably begin to penetrate each
other. In the same manner, we tend to imbibe the spirit, share the
opinions or absorb the qualities of our intimate associates. Though we
may believe that our gold will enrich their lead, the opposite is far
more likely to prove true—their lead will debase our gold.
God wants the believers to live
blameless before Him. It would enable them serve as models to
unbelievers around them. As you go about your routines today, bear in
mind that you owe God the responsibility to be holy both in speech and
in conduct. Remember that obedience is the first step towards holy
living and both are apt demonstrations of the believer’s love for God.
Separate yourself from debased friends and associates and the Lord will
be pleased with you.
Birthday Blessing: I will give you the
treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you may
know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summoned you by name.
Isaiah 45:3RBT Passage: Joel 3; Rev. 5
The swift wind of compromise is a lot more devastating than the sudden jolt of misfortune. Chuck Swindoll.
